ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Holly Reynolds, an English Language & Literature instructor and writing tutor in Williamsburg, Virginia.
I have over five years of experience in teaching, tutoring, and instructing. I have taught and tutored in many subjects-- including English Literature, English as a Second Language, Visual Arts, and Geology. I believe in student-centered learning and utilizing the transformative power of English literature to inspire my students’ minds and hearts.
I have taught students of all ages, including children ages 3-17 and adult learners.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude
from the College of William & Mary in May 2017, receiving my B.A. in English Literature.
I am currently a Student Teacher enrolled in the William & Mary School of Education Master's Program.

During my time at William & Mary, I served as
Jump! Literary Magazine's Co-Editor in Chief, where I read and edited literary submissions, used
Adobe InDesign to complete magazine layout, and
led club meetings.
At William & Mary, I also tutored adult ESL & ELL learners, volunteered with gifted children, and completed a 72-page Senior Honors Thesis.
I studied a wide breadth of literary genres within
English and American Literature at W&M. I have taken classes on everything from William Faulkner to Modern Irish Drama (which I had the opportunity to study in Ireland itself!)
I have had years of experience in reading and comprehending difficult texts and writing research papers.

I have taught classes in English Language, Visual Arts and Geology, and have additionally worked as a teaching assistant in a number of English classes.
I have tutored high school students in writing for four years, and received a perfect score on the Writing Section of the SAT.
My favorite teaching experience occurred in 2016, where I taught a three-week high school course for a summer program at Princeton University!
